Artist Statement on Iconography �There is only Christ: He is everything and He is in everything." St. Paul, Colossians 3:11 I honor and revere the Byzantine icons and the profound spirituality of the Othodox churches. I try to bring true devotion and prayer into the process of writing an icon, dependent upon the inspiration of the Blessed Trinity, the saints, holy ones, and the Mother of God. So interesting…even now his hands are shown with nail driven in his palm which would not have supported his weight…nails were hammered in his wrists…nails in the palms would have torn through the skin and not worked. It was a terrible thing to do…cruel evil and demonic…he never sinned…he never showed anything but kindness to others…this world was not worthy of him…it sadly still isn’t
